Would you like to discover some of Skye’s more accessible wild places? Join Carol for a wander around the island.
Carol Houghton has probably spent more time and more of her life walking, scrambling or climbing up and around the world’s more mountainous places than many of us! She is a member of The Pinnacle Club, and her claim to fame with them was winning their orienteering competition when her fellow competitors were all fell runners, and she a walker! Carol has a secret compass hidden away somewhere in her head, I swear! If I were ever stuck up a mountain with the weather coming in, I would rely on her every day to guide me down to safety.
She first climbed Skye’s magnificent Cuillins in 1994 with Martin Moran’s team headed by Andy Nesbit. They climbed over three days, which meant sleeping out in bivvy bags and rising at 4.00am.
Now she’s offering an altogether gentler and less robust experience. Rambles around some well known Skye beauty spots, and to some other less well known locations on Skye, weather permitting.
You may want to take your camera to capture a few moments, if cloud cover and weather allow, or you may simply want to enjoy the fresh air and astonishingly breath-taking beauty of some of Skye’s wilder places.
Skill level for each planned walk will be indicated/adapted. Get in touch via our contact form to join the adventure.
